Useful Conversion Tables and Charts
- Psychrometric Chart
The psychrometric chart is a graphic way of displaying the thermodynamic properties of air. These properties are: dry bulb and wet bulb temperatures; relative humidity; specific or grains of water vapor per pound of air; vapor pressure; dew point; enthalpy. The psychrometric chart allows an engineer to quickly determine all the properties of air if any two of the properties are known.
- Typical Performance Curves
With a performance curve an engineer can determine the outlet conditions of the air through a 200 mm silica gel desiccant rotor if the inlet conditions are known. The conditions are inlet and leaving moisture conditions-grains/pound of dry air and inlet and leaving temperature.
- Dew Point Degrees to Grains Conversion Table
This table will give the engineer the grains of moisture per pound of air at various dew points in degrees F and C ranging from 100°F to -50°F.
- Dew Point to Frost Point Conversion Table
This table will give the engineer both the frost point and various dew points in degrees F from 32°F to -53°F.
- Temperature Conversion Table
This table will give the engineer a quick way to convert from Fahrenheit to Celsius or the reverse.
- Useful Conversion Factors
This table will give the engineer a quick way to convert numerous measurements and conditions to corresponding values in other systems such as Btu’s to Joules, cubic feet to cubic meters, horsepower to kilowatts and inches of mercury to inches of water to name a few.
